MY BIO

            Welcome to The Linden Outdoorsman, owned and operated by Tim Fairchild. I have over 20 years’ experience in healthcare since completing my BSc (Hons) Health Science. I have mainly worked in health promotion with a focus on coaching for exercise, nutrition and mental well-being. More recently in April 2022 I changed direction after 8 years in a management position to become a bushcraft instructor working with children with SEN. Loving the outdoors since those childhood days, this is my ideal job as I get to spend time outdoors, in the fresh air bringing the therapeautic element into young people’s lives to help them develop social, relationship and behavioural skills. In this role I worked as an Assistant Chief Instructor having completed the Bushcraft Competency training with the Institute of Outdoor Learning, I passed my assessment for this in August 2023. In April 2023, I made the decision to become self-employed and open the Linden Outdoorsman. This will allow me to bring bushcraft, wilderness wellbeing sessions, and woodland conservation projects to a wider audience of children, young people and adults in East Sussex.
